Alexandra Bridge-Closures

GATINEAU, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - June 29, 2012) - Public Works and Government Services Canada wishes to advise motorists and pedestrians of temporary closures on the Alexandra Bridge Sunday, July 1 and Monday, July 2, 2012.

The Alexandra Bridge will be closed to motorists from 6:30 a.m. on July 1 until 1 a.m. on July 2 (approximate time of reopening).

Pedestrians will be allowed to cross the bridge, using the boardwalk and the centre lane, from the time of closure until 9 p.m. on July 1. The bridge will reopen to pedestrians at approximately 11 p.m. on the same day.

These closures are necessary for public safety and to allow for the Canada Day fireworks display. Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to consult the Canada Day website at www.canadaday.gc.ca for any updates relating to street closures.

The schedule may change due to weather conditions.

Public Works and Government Services Canada thanks users for their patience.
