1075 Bay Street Awarded BOMA BESt, Level 2 Certification

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 21, 2012) - Canderel is proud to announce that 1075 Bay Street, located in Toronto, has received BOMA BESt, Level 2 Certification. This achievement means that the property met all of the BOMA Go Green Best Practices and received a score of 70-79% on the Go Green Plus assessment.

Attaining BOMA BESt, Level 2 Certification speaks to the work that Canderel has undertaken to implement effective environmental management practices at 1075 Bay Street. As a result of the initiatives undertaken in recent years, annual energy use, adjusted for changes in weather, was reduced by 10% against a 2008 baseline, and water use over that same period was reduced by more than 6%.

Energy efficiency measures implemented at 1075 Bay Street include an office and parking garage lighting retrofit, the implementation of lighting automation and adjustments to the heating, ventilation and cooling system (HVAC) schedules. Initiatives undertaken to reduce water consumption include the installation of low-flow auto-flush toilets and auto-sensor faucets throughout the building. 1075 Bay Street also offers an office recycling program which includes electronic waste.
