Les ventes de logements existants à Kingston reviennent à leur niveau antérieurKINGSTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - 14 juin 2012) - Selon l'édition du printemps 2012 de Perspectives du marché de l'habitation publiée aujourd'hui par la Société canadienne d'hypothèques et de logement (SCHL) pour la région métropolitaine de recensement (RMR) de Kingston, le nombre de mises en chantier dans la région devrait descendre à 715 d'ici la fin de l'année. L'activité dans le secteur de la construction résidentielle retournera en effet à un niveau qui correspond à l'évolution de la formation de ménages.
Les promoteurs de Kingston devraient revoir à la baisse leurs projets de mises en chantier d'appartements cette année et la suivante, vu la quantité accrue d'ensembles locatifs en cours de construction.
« Comme le rythme des nouvelles inscriptions de logements existants à Kingston s'accélère et qu'il finira par excéder celui des ventes, la progression des prix va ralentir et refléter le taux d'inflation national l'an prochain. Toutefois, la robuste croissance de l'emploi à plein temps et les taux hypothécaires exceptionnellement bas devraient aider à maintenir l'activité sur le marché de la revente à Kingston en 2012 et 2013 », a déclaré Abdul Kargbo, analyste de marché à la SCHL pour Kingston.
