VIDEO: The BCIT Piping Trades program
The BCIT Piping Trades program prepares many young men and women in British Columbia for pre-apprentice work in plumbing and other disciplines through intensive study and hands-on training.
Chief Instructor Bill Evans was able to talk to the Journal of Commerce and gave a summary of the different challenges Piping Trades students face when they tackle what can sometimes be large-scale projects.
He also pointed to the extensive partnerships the school has entered into with industry manufacturers as a step that gives BCIT students a distinct advantage when they move from school to the work world.
Evans also said the rapid technological changes sweeping the industry mean the department is always racing to keep up with the latest developments in order to provide students with optimal training.
