Hwy. 4 climbing lane project in Saskatchewan now complete
REGINA
A $4 million climbing lane project on Highway 4 in southern Saskatchewan is now complete.
The five-kilometre project south of Saskatchewan Landing Bridge included grading, widening and surface work over the past two highway construction seasons, reports the Saskatchewan government.
Some maintenance work and several new highway construction projects began recently, including culvert installation under Highway 8 north of Rocanville; patching on Highway 12 south of Blaine Lake and Highway 35 south of Nipawin; repaving of Highway 106 near Smeaton; patching on Highway 305 between Warman and Martensville; and repairs to Highway 377 west of Radville.
Construction on access roads in Lake Lenore, Bladworth and Bredenbury has recently been completed. Work on the Gerald, Milden and Broderick accesses is planned or underway, as part of $10.3 million in projects in the 2012 construction season. Funding is provided through the Small Community and Tourism Access Roads Program.
Other projects previously announced in 2012 include access roads to the communities of Dinsmore, Verwood, Kennedy, Prelate, Dodsland, Hanley and Margo, as well as the Sun Valley Access (north of Moose Jaw at Buffalo Pound Lake).
