IBI Group to develop master transportation, public transit plans for Sarnia, Ontario

The City of Sarnia recently announced it has initiated the development of transportation and public transit master plans. IBI Group has been contracted to develop the plans.

Completion is scheduled for September, 2013, according to a notice posted to the City of Sarnia website.

One objective of the study is to "outline the transportation infrastructure needed to ensure safe and efficient movement of people, goods and service for the economic growth and prosperity of the City." The study also aims to develop policies for transit, walking, cycling, movement of goods. The scope also includes rail, air and marine service.

The city plans to hold the first public information centre this fall.
