Saskatchewan premier Brad Wall is pushing for changes to the province’s labour legislation, and has the support of the Merit Contractors Association of Saskatchewan. The Saskatchewan Building Trades oppose the changes and have released a paper against restructuring the current legislation.
Staff writer Richard Gilbert has a story about the Alberta government accelerating efforts to twin Highway 63 to Fort McMurray. Two new passing lanes will be added and six lanes will be extended between House River and the junction with Highway 881.
Correspondent Peter Kenter has an article about Pacific Blasting, a Burnaby-based company that uses explosive compaction to achieve rapid soil stabilization.
