CALGARY
ATCO Ltd. recently announced the launch of a new company that will provide pre-fabricated building solutions and design services for remote Canadian communities.
ATCO Sustainable Communities Inc. can design and build an entire community with facilities ranging from offices, schools and day care centres to residential housing, hockey arenas and retail outlets. Building components are pre-engineered and manufactured in a controlled factory environment to ensure cost-effectiveness and consistent high-quality. The company also provides utility infrastructure, such as water purification and distributed power generation facilities.
Design features include energy efficiency, low maintenance and high durability; fire and mold-resistant materials; a broad selection of consistent quality finishes and furnishings; and IT connectivity.
The company’s approach takes into account the challenges of living in remote communities to ensure investments are for the long-term; this includes training and development so the community can manage and maintain its infrastructure.
