ACING IT in Abbotsford, B.C.

Heavy Equipment Operator ACE IT Apprenticeship Program

B.C. ROAD BUILDERS AND HEAVY CONSTRUCTION ASSOCIATION

Students practice behind the controls of some large machinery during the Heavy Equipment Operator ACE IT Apprenticeship Program in Abbotsford. It’s the first-ever program in Canada that enables senior high school students to spend a semester training to become heavy equipment operators. The program was put together by the Abbotsford School District, the provincial government through the Industry Training Authority (ITA) and companies with the B.C. Road Builders and Heavy Construction Association.
