Crane collapse in China kills five children
BEIJING
China’s state new agency says a crane at a construction site next to a kindergarten collapsed recently killing five children. The children were playing outside and were killed by falling bricks as the crane crashed onto the kindergarten in Zibo city in Shandong province, Xinhua says.
Two children and the crane operator were also injured and taken to a hospital, it says. A preliminary police investigation attributed the accident to poor safety measures. Managers of the construction company were detained.
