Construction is progressing on the Southlake Regional Cancer Centre in Newmarket, Ont. General contractor Vanbots Construction Corp. began the $47-million, five-storey project in summer 2007 and completion has been scheduled for fall 2009. The owner is Southlake Regional Health Centre and the project was designed by Vermeulen/Hind Architects. Consultants are Halcrow Yolles (structural); HH Angus & Associates Ltd. (mechanical/electrical); and Janet Rosenberg & Associates (landscape). Subcontractors include: Gentile Contracting Ltd. (excavating); Structform International Ltd. (formwork); Gilbert Steel Ltd. (rebar supply); Paramount Steel Ltd. (structural steel); CBM (concrete supply); Limen Masonry; Geo A. Kelson Co. Ltd. (mechanical); Guild Electric Ltd.; Westmetro Glass Service Ltd. (windows); Nortex Roofing Ltd.; and Otis Canada Inc. (elevators).
