TransCanada ready to start construction on North Central Corridor project
TransCanada is preparing to start construction on their North Central Corridor natural gas pipeline project.
The 300 km pipeline will extend from the existing Meikle River compressor station to the existing Woodenhouse compressor station.
TransCanada submitted applications to the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) and Alberta Sustainable Resource Development in the fourth quarter of 2007. The application is also before the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC), as a result of the realignment of the EUB in January 2008.
Regulatory approval is anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2008 and construction is scheduled to begin late fall 2008.
The $120-million pipeline will be constructed by Louisbourg Pipelines.
