Federal government to share costs of water system in North Bay, Ontario

NORTH BAY

Upgrades to North Bay’s water distribution system have received $1.8 million in federal infrastructure funding for the $5.3 million project.

The federal contribution is up to one-third of total eligible costs for the project which includes: watermain upgrades (including all modifications required to connect the new facilities to the existing grid), construction of a new pumping station and standpipe, conversion of the current pumping station to a valve chamber and repairs to the existing storage facility for interim use.

The project will help to provide a stable water supply, equalize system pressure, and supply fire protection.
