Working drawings for the Joseph and Wolf Levoic Jewish Community Centre, located at Bathurst Street and Weldrick Road in Vaughan, will be complete in fall 2008. The United Jewish Appeal Federation of Greater Toronto plans to start construction of the $45.3 million development in 2009.

Architectural and engineering consultants attached to the project include Petroff Partnership Architects (architectural designs); Read Jones Christoffersen Ltd. (structural engineering); and LKM Consulting Engineers Inc. (mechanical); and Hammerschlag & Joffe Inc. (electrical).

Construction of the 370,000-square-foot development will be managed by Vanbots Construction Corp. Vanbots plans to begin accepting sub trade pricing late 2008.

The development will include a 170,000-square-foot, two-storey special needs building with a geriatric facility, special needs housing and therapeutic school. Also included is a 200,000-square-foot community centre with space for the Mount Sinai Ambulatory Care department.
