Video Interview

Jeff Morrison prepares to take helm of Association of Canadian Engineering Companies

The Association of Canadian Engineering Companies (ACEC) has chosen Jeff Morrison as its new president and chief operating officer, beginning July 14, 2008. In this video interview, Morrison talks about some of the on-going concerns of the ACEC and the organization’s priorities in the future.

According to Morrison, the ACEC’s current key objective is the promotion of quality-based selection of engineering firms, “green” education and infrastructure investment. Morrison talks about the engineering community’s awareness of green issues and the ACEC’s commitment to exploring educational opportunities for its members. He also explains how the ACEC will continue to work to make building owners aware of the value of quality-based selection, such as choosing an engineering firm based on experience and quality of work, rather than choosing the lowest bidder. Mr. Morrison wraps up the interview by offering his view of ACEC’s short-term goals as he embarks on his new role.
