Labour shortage acute in Norway

OSLO

Norway is facing an escalating shortage of labour, reports the Norway Post.

Norwegian firms are in need of nearly 100,000 employees, four out of ten firms have problems recruiting staff and one out of five is short staffed, a survey by Norway’s National Labour Office reveals.

The shortage is greatest among health service workers, engineers and skilled labour in the building and construction industry. The survey concerned 14,000 companies during the months of February and March.
