TORONTO

The City of Toronto has awarded its 2008 Green Toronto Award for Leadership to Greg Allen, a sustainable strategist with global planning, architecture and design firm HOK.

“Greg is an incredible champion of sustainable design for Toronto,” said Lui Mancinelli, senior vice-president and managing principal at HOK.

As a sustainable design strategist at HOK in Toronto, Allen works with project teams by proposing sustainable strategies in the early design stages of projects as well as researching “deep green” systems for projects. He also is involved in energy policy development at outside institutions and governments.

Allen sits on the boards of numerous organizations, among them the greater Toronto chapter of the Canada Green Building Council, the Toronto Sustainability Roundtable Waterfront Committee and the Sustainable Building Association of Canada.
