The biggest truss ever manufactured by Garco Building Systems of Spokane Washington was lifted into place by two 200-ton cranes.
Vision Steel installs Garco’s biggest truss ever
The Garco Building Systems-built truss was installed by Vision Steel Contracting on April 28 at the new London Aviation Centre at the YVR South Terminal.
The truss, which is 23 feet deep, 175 feet long and weighs 83 tons, makes it possible for the 84,000 sq. ft. hangar/office facility to have the 366 ft. clear span required for the movement and storage of fleet jets.
Scott DesignBuild Ltd. is the main contractor on the project. The hangar is owned by London Air Services.
