Steel structure takes shape at Filmport Phase One Complex

Steel work takes shape at the Filmport Phase One Complex, Toronto Film Studios in Toronto. Construction manager Bird Construction Co. began the multi-level, multi-building project last winter and completion has been scheduled for summer 2008. The buildings will house sound stages, four storeys of offices, maintenance and workshop areas. The Filmport Phase One project was designed by Quadrangle Architects Ltd. Consultants are: Jablonsky Ast & Partners (structural); Merber Corp. (mechanical); Mulvey & Banani International Inc. (electrical); Dillon Consulting Ltd. (civil); Terraprobe Ltd. (geotechnical); and Aeroacoustic Engineering Ltd. Subtrades include: M & M Excavating; Anchor Shoring & Caissons Ltd.; Hardrock Forming Co. (formwork); Salit Steel (rebar supply); Telco Steel Work Ltd. (structural); and Dufferin Concrete.
