A Healthy Project

Concrete work progresses for the William Osler Health Centre in Brampton, Ont. EllisDon/Carillion in a joint venture have scheduled completion of the project for July 2007. The work includes a three-storey diagnostic treatment facility with a basement and a six-storey in patient facility. There will be 608 acute care beds, 18 operating rooms, ground floor retail and seven levels of parking. The William Osler Health Centre was designed by Parkin Architects Ltd. and Adamson Associates Architects in a joint venture. Consultants are: Marshall Macklin Monaghan & Stephenson Engineering Ltd. (structural); The Mitchell partnership (mechanical); Carcini Burt Rogers Engineering (electrical); and PMA Landscape Architects Ltd. Subtrades include: Aro Excavating Ltd.; Avenue Building Corp./Premform Ltd./Hardrock Forming Co. (formwork); Harris Rebar/Gilbert Steel Ltd. joint venture (rebar supply); Res Precast Inc.; Lorvin Steel Ltd. (structural steel); St. Marys CBM (concrete supply); Village Masonry Construction; Geo. A. Kelson Company Ltd. (mechanical); Univex Canada Ltd./Sutherland-Schultz Inc. (electrical); Windsor Glass Co. Ltd.; Bothwell-Accurate Co. Ltd. (roofing); Fujitec Canada Inc. (elevators); and Fermar Paving.
