A worker watches for traffic as construction progresses for the Recreational Athletic and Wellness Centre at the University of Toronto Mississauga Campus. Vanbots Construction Corp. has completion of the $18-million, three-storey facility scheduled for August. It will include a pool, gym, an overhead running track, four basketball courts and more.
The Project Team
The Recreational and Wellness Centre was designed by Shore Tilbe Irwin & Partners. Consultants are: Yolles Partnership Inc. (structural); Smith & Andersen Consulting Engineering (mechanical); Mulvey & Banani (electrical); and Fleisher Ridout Partnership Inc. (landscape). Subtrades include: Ciro Excavating & Grading Ltd.; CC Construction (formwork); C & T Reinforcing Steel Co. (1987) Ltd. (rebar supply); Azimuth Three Enterprises Inc. (structural steel); James Dick Construction Ltd. (concrete supply); Squire Masonry Ltd.; Adelt Mechanical Works Ltd.; Metric Electric Contractors Ltd.; M & I Aluminum Ltd. (windows); Bothwell-Accurate Co. Ltd. (roofing); Schindler Elevator Corp.; NCAquatics (Myrtha Pool supply); and Hollandia Gardens Ltd. (pool installation).
