$12M contract awarded

Aecon-Cegerco to renovate Montreal airport

Aecon Group Inc. has announced that its Quebec Buildings division, Aecon-Cegerco, has begun work on a $12-million general contract to expand and renovate portions of Montreal’s Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (formerly Montreal-Dorval International Airport).

Work will include the renovation of a part of the existing building as well as redevelopment of several areas of the airport, including the former international arrivals area.

Aecon-Cegerco will make key structural modifications, perform demolition work and complete all architectural finishes.

“Over the years, Aecon has developed a distinct expertise in airport projects. The work we’re doing for the Montreal-Trudeau airport is a complex operation because it’s taking place in a functioning airport,” said John Beck, chairman and CEO of Aecon Group Inc.

Work at the airport is already under way and is expected to be completed by March 2006.
