FOUR SEASONS SITE

Construction is ongoing for the new Four Seasons Centre For The Performing Arts auditorium in Toronto. PCL Constructors Canada Inc. began the four-tiered European horseshoe-shaped building in April 2003 and completion is scheduled for spring 2006. The project involves a 2,000-seat theatre, and a three-storey city room with dressing rooms, rehearsal space, an opera shop and box office entrance. The owner is the Canadian Opera House Corporation and architect for the project is Diamond and Schmitt Architects Inc. Consultants are: Yolles (structural); Crossey Engineering Ltd. (mechanical); Mulvey & Banani International Inc. (electrical); Fisher Dachs Associates (theatre); and Sound Space Design (acoustics). Subtrades include: York Excavating & Grading Co. Ltd. Rumble Foundations (Ontario) Ltd. (shoring/caissons); Structform International Ltd. (formwork); Blenkhorn Sayers (structural steel); Harris Rebar (rebar supply); St. Mary’s CBM (concrete supply); Adelt Mechanical Works Ltd.; Plan Electric Co.; Gartner (structural glazing); Ferguson-Neudorf Glass Inc. (glazing); and Bothwell-Accurate Co. Ltd. (roofing).
